Hello again! Time for another email, there is quite a lot coming up in
the area this month.

Current news is the ongoing Seismic testing in Helsby and Elton, this
will be moving towards Chester very soon and concentrating on the Mickle
Trafford/Tarvin/Littleton areas. The company involved, Tesla, do not
have permission at this stage to use the roads for their testing, so
what we are seeing at the moment is miles and milers of cables and
geophones being laid out on private land/gardens and fields – these
people need permission to do so – if they come onto property without
permission, this is TRESPASS and can be reported as such. Small
explosive charges are then detonated in specially drilled holes and the
aftershocks recorded and translated to give a picture of the rock layers
beneath the ground. This information is being gathered for fracking
company IGas, who will use it to locate the best spots for their drills
in the future.

For anyone in the Helsby/Frodsham area (and beyond!) There is a social
meeting for coffee and cake at JTO Vintage and Old Bank Tea Rooms, 213
Chester Road, Helsby WA6 0DA on Sunday October 4th at 12.30pm for people
to get together and get to know each other and discuss what has been
going on in the area.

Fracking company IGas are holding another community exhibition for those
who live in the southern part of their seismic survey area where they
will be acquiring three-dimensional data of the underlying rock

The exhibition will be held on Thursday 8 October between 15:00 – 20:00
at Chester Rugby Union Football Club, Hare Lane, Littleton, Chester, CH3

in response to this, we are holding a peaceful demo on the main road to
show our opposition to IGas’ plans and to raise awareness. We aim to be
there between  4pm and 7pm on 8th October.

Come along and join other friendly local community folk in order to show
peaceful visual opposition to Fracking and all forms of unconventional
gas exploration and extraction from taking place in the area.

Bring banners and placards, hot and cold drinks. The exhibition is down
the lane from this corner, but we aim to be visible on the pavement of
the main road for maximum exposure, opposite Barnhouse Veterinary
Surgery, Tarvin Road CH3 7DD,  rather than taking part in the

They have no connection to this event, other than being a handy
landmark. Parking is probably best on Littleton Lane, which is the lane
off the main road, OPPOSITE the vets.

Finally, Frack Free Dee are holding two awareness meetings in Frodsham
and Helsby. As usual, please can these be advertised and shared about as
much as possible. The local area is also being leafletted – I think this
is taken care of, but there may be a further request for help nearer the
time. If you live in the area and are not already involved in some way,
please make it to one of the social gatherings to find out what your
neighbours are doing.

These will be held on 28th October at 7.30pm Eccies Club, Mountain View,
Helsby WA6 0BE and

4th November at 7.30pm Frodsham Community Centre, The Cottage, Fluin
Lane WA6 7QN

These are all free of charge and all are welcome to attend, so please
come yourself if you feel you want more information about what fracking
is, and please publicize these events if you are in the area. All the
information in the presentations is taken from peer-reviewed scientific
studies and references can be given.
